“Seoul Four Major Future Growth Industry Excellent Item Contest" hosted by the Seoul Regional SMEs and Startups Office and co-hosted by the Seoul Creative Economy Innovation Center and 9 hosting organizations (Konkuk University, Korea University, Seoul National University, Soongsil University, Yonsei University, Induk University, Hanyang University, CNT Tech, N15) was held on the 13th of this month.
This contest was held to provide support for (preliminary) founders working on the items in Seoul's four future growth industries, such as ICT, biomedical, digital content, and clothing textiles. After documents and presentation evaluation, the final 7 teams were selected among 200 teams.
The 7 teams selected were 1 grand prize, 2 best exellence teams, and 4 excellent teams, including EMOCOG and Geogrid, which were selected for the initial startup package of 2021 by Seoul National University and CNT Tech, the co-hosting organizations.
The grand prize was awarded to Kim Jun-tae of Whatssup, who presented a 'new concept subscription platform service', and The Best Excellence prize was awarded to EMOCOG's Noh Yoo-heon, who presented the 'dementia digital treatment app service' and CEO Hongsuk Lee from Neurocle for 'deep learning vision software that can be used even by non-specialists' won the award.
The 4 teams of Excellence Award included Dae-Hoon Kim, CEO of Nuvi-Labs, Inc. of 'Food Scan AI-based Healthcare Solution', Seung-Hyun Kim, CEO of Propwave 'Parking Space Management Solution using CCTV-based Image Recognition Technology', and Seok Jeong-woong, CEO of Flipper Corporation, 'Solution that can develop no-coding cloud based on App Builder'. and Kim Ki-hyun, CEO of Geogrid, 'Smart Remote Meter Reading Control Platform for Constant Power IoT Collective Water Meter' were awarded the awards.
Meanwhile, the winning team is expected to receive support such as linking with startup support projects and other follow-up support through an incubation agreement with the Seoul Creative Economy Innovation Center.
